Spiritual Life – God’s Presence in Us

Many people misunderstand the Holy Spirit, seeing Him as a force rather than a person.

Part of spiritual life is recognizing who the Holy Spirit is. the Bible makes it clear that the Holy Spirit is God. In Acts 5:3–4, Peter rebuked Ananias for lying to the Holy Spirit, saying, “You have not lied to man but to God.” This confirms that the Holy Spirit is not just an influence or power—He is fully divine.

The significance of this truth is that it is life-changing. If the Holy Spirit is God, and if He dwells within us, then we are literally carrying the presence of God everywhere we go. 1 Corinthians 6:19 tells us, “Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God?” This means we are never alone—God Himself resides within us, guiding, strengthening, and comforting us.

Recognizing the Holy Spirit as God also means we must treat Him with reverence.

We should listen when He speaks, yield when He convicts, and obey when He leads. We must also cultivate an awareness of His presence in our daily lives. How often do we acknowledge the Holy Spirit’s role in our lives? How often do we lean on Him for guidance instead of relying on our own understanding?

Challenge: Take time today to acknowledge the Holy Spirit’s presence in your life.

Pray and invite Him to lead you in your decisions, words, and actions. Make it a habit to recognize His indwelling presence each day. Your spiritual life will change!
